About Evitable

Evitable is an organization with a mission to make people aware of the dangers of AI, and aware that we can and should prevent further progress towards Superintelligence.

About the Role

Help shape and support a new movement to push back on A(S)I inevitability. Coming in as one of the first hires means that you will be closely connected to our CEO and all aspects of our work--getting significant insight into our overall organizational development and evolving programs. You’ll support and amplify the work of our CEO, David, and act as his right hand. The two of you will work closely together, and you’ll contribute to, and be expected to make decisions representing, his strategy and vision.

As this role is strategic in nature, it requires a comprehensive understanding of the AI risk mitigation space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans for supporting and amplifying the CEO’s work.

  • Take the initiative to organize and prioritize the CEO’s efforts; proactively seek and incorporate feedback; and shape processes that enable you to be effective (e.g., establishing what level of sign-off is needed when).

  • Work directly with the CEO to manage and make the best use of their time. Specific responsibilities could include:

    • Running daily meetings with the CEO, resulting in actionable TODOs

    • Accompany and support the CEO in meetings, including meeting prep, preparing backgrounders, proposing action items, and assigning and driving execution on follow-up tasks.

    • Identifying, tracking, and supporting execution of TODOs, including preparing drafts, handling correspondence, or conducting research

    • Co-working on org plans and roadmaps

  • Contribute assertively to strategic discussions, assisting the CEO to make final decisions.

  • Run with specific projects delegated to you by the CEO “on the fly,” representing the CEO to others in the org in such cases to drive execution, including delegating tasks to other team members.

  • Support the growing Evitable team in a wide array of tasks and projects related to organizational development and operations.

Qualifications

  • Required

    • Purpose-driven and aligned with Evitable’s mission to make people aware of the dangers of AI, and aware that we can and should prevent further progress towards Superintelligence.

    • An understanding of the major actors and fundamental concepts of AI risk mitigation.

    • 3+ years of experience supporting C-suite executives or executive directors.

    • Experience working in fast-paced start-up or non-profit environments.

    • Impeccable reliability, organization, and conscientiousness. A track record of getting things done and meeting deadlines by prioritizing effectively.

    • Experience successfully setting up and running new systems and processes for executive organization and time management.

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different stakeholders and contexts.

  • Nice to Have

    • Familiarity with non-profit administration and compliance.
